Cheers mate, thanks for your prompt response. Might have a lokk at the 8′0 seeing as I’ve got a 7′2. Well let you know how it goes in the Maldives!!

  • GlobalSurfIndustries:

@ 102kegs I reckon you have a chance. The 7′3 for sure. The 8′0″ is an unreal board to ride gets a many waves as a longboard without the extra length and heaps faster.

@GlobalSurfIndustries Can you duck dive the 8 footer?
I ride a seven 2 shane sting ray which is fine to duck dive and am looking at this board as a possibility for a Maldives trip.

    I weigh about 102kg.

    Cheers.

  • GlobalSurfIndustries:

Depending on your weight is is not a bad option. It is a board that you will keep as you get better and better. Good luck.

  • Supersaltman:

is the 8 footer good for a beginner just starting out.

  • seterak:

hey i’m down in raglan, nz and spotted the same board this guy is talking about but 6′8″. Its $930, which i’m finding a tad expensive compared to a similar Weber or Hughes (like 2 hundy more expensive, eek)… But I really like this board, anything you could tell me to help me make the decision easier and go for the more expensive option?

  • GlobalSurfIndustries:

If you are past the basics of learning to paddle, pop up and turn then a Super Fish XL is a great board that you can buy for sure. As you get better it will provide you with the ability to do more on a wave for sure. As hard as you want to push it the board will be able to handle it. Cheers from GSI
